Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn will line up a relatively small team at Monday’s Grafton meeting but will rely on four runners in two races to enhance the winning run of the stable.

Dunn has form mare Considered heading to Saturday’s $1 million Evergreen Turf Country Championships Final at Randwick, but he will tune up for that event when Foxy Artist and Ivantheinvincible face each other in the Rabbit Ride-Share Maiden Plate (1115m) at Grafton.

Jett Newman takes the ride on Foxy Artist, while Andrew Mallyon will be on board Ivantheinvincible.

“They are both nice horses,” Dunn said.

“Foxy Artist hit the line well on debut when finishing third at Grafton, and she followed that up with a fourth at Goulburn.

“She’s first-up on Monday and she’s had the two trials to get ready. She’s drawn gate one with Jett [Newman] to ride and should get every chance from there.”

Ivantheinvincible is on debut after four barrier trials.

“He’s had a couple of trials this month for a fourth at Grafton before winning the latest of them at Beaudesert,” Dunn said.

“He’s a Russian Revolution gelding and we are looking forward to seeing him in action at the races.”

Dunn will have stablemates Gaylord and Superstitious lining up against each other in the Clarence Valley Office Supplies Class 2 Handicap (1190m), with Mallyon and Newman taking the respective
rides.

“Gaylord has shown talent having won two from nine,” Dunn said.

“Both his wins have been at Grafton and Andrew [Mallyon] has won on him, so he knows him well.

“He’s had two runs back from a spell and wasn’t beaten far in the latest of them at Ipswich so he should be ready to run well on Monday.”

Superstitious broke through for his second win at start 14 at his latest run at Grafton on March 5, and Dunn believes he can run up to that form again.

“He’s always shown us plenty of talent and it was a good, strong win last time out,” Dunn said.

“He should be thereabouts again.”
