Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has been ordered to pay $1 million (A$1.4 million) in child support after a court declared he fathered a daughter with a pole dancer.

Records from March this year, obtained by TMZ, name the five-weight world champion as the father of the four-year-old girl.

The mother, Paige Moorehead, who claims to have been in an eight-year relationship with the iconic fighter, has been fighting a legal battle to have Mayweather, 49, named as the dad for nearly three years.

Moorehead, who worked at Mayweather’s Girls Collection strip club, alleges the pair split in April 2021 when she fell pregnant.

Mayweather, who was served legal papers on two occasions, was named the father by default judgement after refusing a DNA test.

The judge’s decision also ordered Mayweather to pay $32,850 (A$46,060) per month in child support, along with four years of backdated payments which adds up to $933,050 (A$1.3m).

Mayweather, who will be able to place a lien on one of his properties worth $2m (A$2.8m) to help pay the support, is understood to have paid just $151,000 (A$211,000) so far.

The American boxer, who now has five children, is yet to comment on the matter.

He is then poised to conclude the year with a bout against Mike Tyson — a clash that was first talked up to take place in April.

Mayweather retired from professional boxing with a perfect record of 50 wins and no losses.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time, his final pro bout came in August 2017 when he beat MMA star Conor McGregor.
