Roos skipper Nick Larkey couldn’t contain himself post game as his side celebration not only their comeback win but making a 3-1 start to 2026.
Larkey said the last term from his side was like nothing he had seen in almost a decade at the club as they put everything on the line to chase the win.
“I can’t remember us doing anything like that in my whole career and this is my 10th year,” Larkey told Seven post game.
“A win like that is just enormous. You could see how much the boys wanted it in the whole last quarter and especially the last three minutes when we hit the lead.
“George Wardlaw’s chase down, LDU’s last quarter, Harry Sheezel’s goal and Cooper Trembath standing up – everyone had their moment and took it. That was an unbelievable win and I’m stoked. I’m so happy.”
