Ed Sheeran dropped a bombshell as he revealed he was leaving the UK to start a new life in America with his family.

The 34-year-old singer admitted he could no longer jump back and forth while on tour, so the only option was to move across the Atlantic.

On the 2 Johnnies podcast he confessed, “I’m just about to move to America. I feel like I might be the only person moving to America. I’m going on tour there for a while and I have a family so I can’t dip in and out. We’re going and settling there.”

The Sapphire hitmaker already owned a £9 million New York pad, part of his massive £70 million property empire but mostly lived at his Suffolk estate known as Sheeranville with wife Cherry Seaborn and their daughters.

Ed He did not reveal the exact city he would call home but he previously spoken about Nashville being his dream destination.

“When you transition to country, you can’t transition back,” he said earlier this year.

“Nashville is my favourite city in the States and it’s always been my end goal to move to Nashville and transition to country.”

The Perfect singer’s decision came just months after he caused a stir by saying he identified “culturally as Irish” despite being born in England.

Ed explained that his father was from Belfast and that his childhood was filled with Irish music.

However, fans are were not impressed with his decision, accusing him of pretending and questioning his cultural claims.
