While Kylie Jenner has often taken the lead in her relationship with Timothée Chalamet, this time, she appears to be stepping back.
On Thursday, September 4, The Kardashians star shared a photo dump from her recent birthday celebration, which was skipped by the Dune star.
Kylie, who turned 28 on August 10, captioned the carousel of intimate moments from her close-knit celebration with, “bday film [film tape emoji].”
The post featured several unseen snapshots of her posing with sister Kendall Jenner and close friends, along with a few sweet snaps of her spending time with her children: daughter Stormi, seven, and son Aire, three.
While many of her loved ones made it into the birthday photo set, fans quickly noticed the absence of one person: Chalamet, 29.
The A Complete Unknown star was missing from both the celebrations and the later post. If he had shown up or publicly wished Kylie, it could have marked another relationship milestone.
Moreover, Kylie’s latest social media post could have been the perfect moment for the couple to finally go Instagram official after nearly two years of dating but instead, the Wonka actor chose to stay silent.
While fans might have assumed he was simply busy, the actor did post a story that day, completely unrelated to Kylie, which fueled breakup rumors online.
However, those rumours were soon put to rest when the two reunited in Budapest on August 19, amid Chalamet’s Dune: Part Three filming schedule.
Kylie has previously shown effort in the relationship. From following him on Instagram, despite not getting a follow back, to flying out to meet him during his hectic shooting calendars and sitting courtside with him.
This time, she might have made a subtle but telling move by not including him in her special birthday carousel.
