Only Taylor Swift can break Spotify records for an album that hasn’t even come out yet.
According to the music platform, the pop megastar’s upcoming 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl has already become the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in the platform’s history, breaking the record previously held by her own 2024 release, The Tortured Poets Department.
The record was officially set on Sunday (August 31) and the streaming service announced the milestone on Monday, just weeks ahead of the album’s official release.
Spotify first launched the Countdown Page for The Life of a Showgirl on August 14, pairing it with an exclusive playlist titled “And, baby, that’s show business for you.” The playlist features 22 of the multi-Grammy-winner’s previously released tracks, produced alongside longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback.
The achievement adds to Swift’s growing list of streaming accolades. She was Spotify’s most-streamed artist of 2024, racking up over 26.6 billion global streams.
Swift, 35, revealed The Life of a Showgirl on August 12 during her debut appearance on New Heights, the podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason.
In a teaser clip shared to the show’s social media, she unveiled the title, just eight months after wrapping her record-smashing Eras Tour.
Life of a Showgirl will release on October 3.
