 Netflix releases ‘Michael Jackson: The Verdict’ trailer

As a biopic on Michael Jackson is running in theatres, Netflix dropped an explosive trailer spotlighting the megastar’s rough days.

It is about the much-covered 2005 Michael Jackson trial.

The three-part docuseries is titled Michael Jackson: The Verdict.

It will come out on June 3.

Nick Green serves as the director and Fiona Stourton as executive producer.

In a chat with Tudum, the filmmakers said it “felt like the right time to revisit the trial and its lingering questions.”

“They approached it as a historical account, presenting the facts as they unfolded in court.”

“It has been 20 years since the trial of Michael Jackson in which he was found not guilty.”

“It was time to take a forensic look at the trial as a whole.”

Though the superstar was acquitted of all charges. However, the trial’s ghosts have never left Jackson.

Not even after his death in 2009.

However, what many viewers noted is the timing of the trailer.

Michael – starring Jaafar Jackson – is inching closer to reaching a coveted billion-dollar mark at the box office.

Social media users cannot help but notice the striking coincidence.

“Really releasing this while Michael is still playing in theatres,” one social media user wrote.

Another added, “They timed this one”;

“Netflix isn’t slick; the timing is so obvious,” a third added.
