A man is dead and four others are in a serious condition after an alleged shooting in Sydney’s south west.

A series of incidents occurred in around Liverpool on Tuesday evening which led to a man dying in a local hospital.

Firstly, NSW Police said officers were called about 8.30pm to Liverpool Hospital after reports that two men in their twenties had headed to emergency, both with gunshot wounds.

“One of the men underwent treatment, however, died a short time later,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The other man remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Then, minutes later on the same night, two men arrived at Fairfield Hospital in a critical condition. They are being treated.

Later, at 9.50pm, a man believed to be a 19-year-old also presented at Liverpool Hospital where he is being treated for injuries.

Police have said they have established a crime scene at a home in Canley Heights, north of Liverpool

A police investigation has begin into the circumstances of Tuesday night.
