Donald Trump is said to be mulling over new military options against Iran as the deadlock in the Middle East continues.
In a social media post on Sunday, US time, he darkly warned Iran “the clock is ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them”.
Mr Trump and his family have unexpectedly dropped a $14 billion lawsuit against one of his own government agencies.
The US President had sued America’s taxation department, the Internal Revenue Service, for $US10bn after his tax records were leaked in 2019.
It potentially set up the bizarre situation where the President’s personal lawyers would be arguing against the lawyers of a government agency which is ultimately controlled by the President.
On Monday, US time, the case was withdrawn. But there could still be some kind of multi-billion settlement.
Mr Trump has furiously lashed out at Republican politician who pushed to get the Epstein Files released, encouraging Republicans to vote against him in an upcoming election.
Thomas Massie, of Kentucky, has angered Mr Trump who wanted the Epstein saga to fade away.
“He is the Worst ‘Republican Congressman in History,” Mr Trump complained of Mr Massie.
He also called him “weak” and “pathetic”.
Mr Trump has been successful in rallying his base to jettison Republicans who he does not approve of. As such, Mr Massie could be in trouble.
