Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC Octagon is official.

The Irish superstar is booked to make his comeback at UFC 329 in a rematch against Max Holloway, on July 12pm AEST at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The former two-division UFC champion is the biggest name in the history of combat sport, and his return is sure to bring much fanfare.

July’s fight comes on the back of a five-year layoff, almost to the date.

McGregor’s last appearance was a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier on July 10, 2021, where he suffered a broken leg after taking a step backwards in the final seconds of the first round.

The fight with Holloway is a rematch of a featherweight matchup that took place way back in 2013, in McGregor’s second fight in the UFC.

McGregor defeated Holloway in a three-round decision that night despite suffering a torn ACL.

McGregor would go on to become the biggest name in the sport and the UFC’s first simultaneous double champion in 2016, knocking out Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title.

He later went on to box Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017, before returning to the UFC. He has gone 1-3 since.

The Hawaiian, Holloway, is also a former featherweight champion and a UFC legend.

Most recently, he suffered a five-round decision loss to Charles Oliveira.
