Welcome to our live updates of US politics and the war with Iran.
Donald Trump is sending very mixed messages about peace – or not peace in the Middle East.
According to US news reports, the White House is closer to a peace deal with Tehran than anyone thought.
Suspending nuclear enrichment and reopening the Strait of Hormuz would all be part of a one page deal.
Around the same time, the US President did as social media post saying so long as Iran “agrees to what has been agreed to … Epic Fury will be at an end”.
Otherwise he threatened “bombing … at a much higher intensity”.
Almost as soon as that was announced, Mr Trump then said it was “too soon” to start planning a trip to Islamabad to sign a peace deal.
For its part, Tehran has scoffed at the “American wish list” of peace plan.
Meanwhile, in the US, Donald Trump has scored significant victory cementing his influence with five Republicans who defied him defeated in a key primary election.
The Republicans had refused to redraw the electoral boundaries of their state to more favour Mr Trump’s party.
It was a “big night for MAGA” a Republican Senator said.
It also means fewer Republicans will likely stand up to Mr Trump even if abiding by his demands waters down the US’ democracy even further.
