A 20-year-old knocked a man unconscious outside a pub and then sent a Snapchat telling his victim to “keep snoring”.

Brodie Dewar, 20, appeared in the Armadale Magistrates Court, in Perth’s southeast, charged with assault occasioning bodily harm over the Kalamunda incident on Christmas Eve.

His lawyer told the court that Dewar would enter a plea at Wednesday’s hearing.

Magistrate Justin Geoghan put the charge to Dewar, who responded: “Guilty, Your Honour.”

The court was previously told Dewar punched Luis Galves Gallego to the jaw and caused him to lose consciousness for about four minutes when he fell backwards and struck his head on a pavement near the Kalamunda Hotel about midnight.

Dewar made a Snapchat of the victim lying unconscious on the ground that read, “Hey don’t hit on my younger sister. Keep snoring.”

The victim suffered a sore mouth, cut lip and memory loss from the attack.

The police prosecutor told the court that Dewar was on strict bail conditions over another more serious charge.

The magistrate granted Dewar bail.

He will be sentenced over the Kalamunda assault in the Armadale Magistrates Court on May 6.
