Blake Lively is addressing the intense public scrutiny and criticism faced by celebrities throughout their lives amid Justin Baldoni’s legal case.

The Gossip Girl alum took her Instagram account on Monday, April 20 and reposted a video by digital creator Django Degree, who analytically broke down Justin Bieber’s life, who faced public scrutiny “from childhood to adulthood.”

Blake called the breakdown on Justin’s “beautiful and intensely criticized life,” “the most thoughtful.”

The It Ends with Us star went on to say, “So many people we loved have been hurt and never come back to themselves. We watch it happen every time. And the collective looks back when it’s too late with empathy that was missing at the time. Shocked everyone treated someone’s most painful days as entertainment. But that isn’t behind us. It happens daily. It makes money. It gets clicks Followers. Virality.”

And, the wife of Ryan Reynolds, noted how “the collective – often unintentionally ravaging the health of an entertainer.”

“Because,” Blake explained, “Everyone feels a right to them for being in the public eye.”

The A Simple Favor actress then gushed over Justin that “seeing @lilbieber meet that with healing was stunning.”

“There were many incredible performances for different reasons. Jaw dropping in their own right,” she noted, concluding her thoughts, “What a beautiful time to witness the different works, and most importantly, the humanity of these artitsts.”

For those unversed, Justin Bieber rose to fame in 2009 at the age of 15 after his breakout hit “One Time.” However, after producing major hits like “Baby,” he took a break from music in March 2019, following public scrutiny over his marriage to Hailey Bieber and for his health.

He once again took a hiatus after releasing Changes and Justice in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Now, after almost four years, Justin appears to be back in his musical era, as he released two albums, Swag I and Swag II, consecutively, in 2025 and has recently marked his major return to the stage at the 2026 Coachella on April 11.
