Kanye West’s return to Los Angeles hit an unexpected hiccup after a production issue triggered a tense reaction from him on stage.
During his performance at SoFi Stadium, the rapper abruptly stopped his 2007 track Good Life after becoming visibly frustrated with lighting and pyrotechnic effects that didn’t match his expected setup.
Footage making rounds online shows him repeatedly calling for the music to be cut while criticising the visuals.
“Stop it, stop it, stop it,’ he interjected, visibly frustrated. ‘Yo… I don’t like when the lights move like that… like disco s***.”
He briefly apologised to the crowd, but the interruptions continued as he halted the performance multiple times. At one point, he compared the setup to a sketch and even called it “corny.”
“Stop doing the Vegas lights, bro… we went over this in rehearsal,” he added.
After several restarts, the technical issues were resolved and the performance resumed.
The concert is part of West’s Ye: Homecoming series and marks his first full headline US shows since 2021, with lined-up appearances in cities including Mexico City earlier this year and shows across Asia in 2024 and 2025.
Another highlight of the night was his daughter, North West, joining him on stage for a brief embrace and a performance.
