Jenny McCarthy believes “it was definitely” Jim Carrey at the César Awards.

After Jim’s recent appearance at the French awards ceremony in February sparked rumors that the comedian and actor had been replaced by someone else, Jenny shared her opinion on what she thinks about the conspiracy theory about Jim’s changed looks.

The actress, who famously dated Jim from 2005 to 2010, declared in a recent chat with People at the iHeartRadio Music Awards that “it was definitely Jim Carrey.”

To Jenny, Jim seemed more content and “happy.”

“He looked very happy at that award show. And I was happy for him,” she said.

“That’s the first thing I noticed. I said, ‘Oh wow, Jim looks really happy,'” Jenny added.

McCarthy’s husband, Donnie Wahlberg, who also attended the musical award show, noted, “You know, that’s the part that, sadly, people miss.”

“We’re so obsessed with how he looks that we didn’t consider how happy he looked,” he added.

Jim’s February appearance gathered significant online buzz speculating that someone had impersonated the Truman Show actor.

Before Jim’s Cesar Awards attendance, he last stepped out publicly at Roll Hall of Fame in November 2025 and when he inducted Soundgarden into the Rock.
