Patrick J. Adams is letting his fans in on the secret behind his nearly decade-long marriage with Troian Bellisario.

The former Suits star, 44, spilled the details during the New York City premiere of his new series The Madison on 9 March, where he named communication, patience, and mutual support among the factors making their relationship last.

“Listening to each other, taking care of each other and putting the other person first,” Adams told People. He admitted the couple have made mistakes over the years but rely on patience, love, and humour to move forward.

Adams and Bellisario, 40, became engaged in 2014 and married in California in 2016. The wedding took place during a weekend celebration surrounded by nature, with guests staying in camping tents.

Bellisario exuded grace in a white gown by Cortana with a headpiece from Amaroq, while Adams rocked a navy three-piece suit from Ralph Lauren.

Several of Bellisario’s Pretty Little Liars co-stars attended the ceremony, including Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, Keegan Allen, and Ian Harding, along with Adams’ Suits colleague Sarah Rafferty.

The couple now shares three children, including Aurora, Elliot, and a newborn baby.

On the professional front, Adams’ latest project, The Madison, premiered on Paramount+ on 14 March, with the remaining episodes scheduled for release on 21 March. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the show stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Elle Chapman, Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett, and Matthew Fox.
