Selections based on a good track.

Race 1

1. Dunstall The Gun hadn’t been too far away when finishing fourth in each of his first four starts either side of a spell. He stepped back up to 1400m at Tamworth when last produced, second-up from a spell, and hit the line well from back in the field to finish third. The additional trip in this event should suit and he can get into winning form for the first time. 7. Pearl Bellini has been placed in four of her nine starts and was beaten less than two lengths at Taree when last produced. She’s drawn to get the run of the race in this and should figure prominently. 6. Pathelia was down the track last time out at Armidale but wasn’t too far away in her latest two runs before that. 4. Argerich was close-up at this track two runs back and finished midfield at Taree since. A placing wouldn’t surprise.
How to play it: Dunstall The Gun WIN.

Race 2

8. Castelle has had the two starts back from a spell and followed a resuming third at Taree with a strong finishing victory over 1500m when last produced. She settled back in the field that day and finished off too well to score over 1500m. The extra trip here looks ideal. 3. Lone Star Dream was first-up from a long spell when running third behind Dwayne at this track and then showed the benefit of that hit-out when finishing well to score a last start Tamworth victory. He should be in the thick of things again. 6. Smokey Saint has been midfield in his most recent runs and can improve enough to get into the placings. 7. Bold Splendor has been placed in her latest two starts.
How to play it: Castelle WIN.

Race 3

6. Embodiment is on debut and she has had three trials to prepare. She’s a speedy type and can give them plenty to chase here if she puts her best foot forward. 9. Magatama is also having her first start, and her two trials have been satisfactory. 12. Silent Uprising is another filly on debut. Well-prepared with a number of trials. 4. Sosueme hasn’t been too far away in each of three runs since resuming and can show up without surprising.
How to play it: Embodiment EACH WAY.

Race 4

3. Athena’s Treasure returned from a spell in fine form winning two in a row at Scone and this track over 1000m and 1200m before being beaten just over four lengths in a Highway at Randwick over 1200m. She steps up to 1509m here from a good gate and can bounce back to winning form. 4. Rockbarton Angel is a last-start Newcastle winner that should be thereabouts again from the inside barrier. 7. Passionate Rebel ran well here when a last start second, while 8. Steely Girl won here before a last start second at Tuncurry.
How to play it: Athena’s Treasure WIN.
