Track Soft 5 and rail out 3m

RACE 1

4. Double Vision is an emerging mare by prolific sprint sire Shalaa in the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable who can break through at her second start. Was $4.80 into $4.00 when tracking the speed and missing narrowly on debut at the Kensington track, and with that race under her belt, can again stalk the speed and provide too strong over further. 1. Kokatahi, one of three Chris Waller-trained runners accepted, was beaten by a long neck first-up from midfield, and can peak over 150m further. Was preferred in this instead of a BM 68 later on the program. 7. Feminino is a stablemate of the top selection, and similarly placed from a low draw after chasing the speed on debut at the Kenso. Extra journey suits being bred to get much further. 2. Velaris is an emerging four-year-old who can run into the minor money at his second start; along with 3. Bello Cavallo who reloads 25 days after making late ground in a deeper Magic Millions maiden on the Gold Coast.

RACE 2

5. Journeyman is by powerhouse The Autumn Sun on debut for the Richard and Will Freedman camp in an open race. Will be right up to running this out, given three trials in 27 days, and with key gear changes in play, he represents terrific value. 4. Hay Street resumes from a wide barrier, but has ability and is a big market with James McDonald riding for the Archibald yard. 8. Written In Wrath is by Written By, and another betting watch having his first start for Waterhouse-Bott behind two progressive trials. 1. Buckeye second-up goes in trifecta and first fours; while 6. Saint Aldwyn second-up is capable of figuring in the money after running a handy one to a half-length when fresh.

RACE 3

4. Decorum is a promising Snitzel colt in the Michael Freedman yard returning for his first run since early spring from a low draw in what should prove a strong form reference. Was good through the line in the second of two 1050m trials, and with blinkers off, he can settle back off speed and be saved for one dominant surge from the 350m. 8. Asilah is a filly by boom sire Wootton Bassett, and part of another strong Waller lineup. Impressive on debut at the provincials, rushing home to win easily after being heavily backed from $3.10 into $2.30. Taking on a tougher race, but drawn to get a sound run off speed again. 6. Little Iris will also be hard to hold out from the inside draw after a strong debut win at Canterbury when backed from $3.20 into $2.70. 1. Master Of The Air resumes from the outside with gear changes for the Waller-McDonald combination behind two trials; while stablemate 3. Prince Charge is lightly raced and finished best to win first-up, beating Kokatahi who is a serious chance.

RACE 4

8. Samarelle is a smart filly in the John O’Shea and Tom Charlton stable resuming for her fourth start, with blinkers coming off. Took progressive strides last year, sweeping home to win on debut at the provincials before missing by a half-length in Group 3 spring company. Fitted with two improving trials up to 1045m, winning the latest, and with McDonald keeping the ride from that hit-out eight days ago, she looks fresh. 1. Signor Tortoni can improve sharply 39 days between runs via a dominant trial win, and dropping in grade. 4. Clear Proof is hard fit, and steps up from a tough win in BM 64 grade carrying 2kg more. 7. Kilbrannan has been given an eight-week break since consecutive wins up to a lesser grade, and comes back a furlong in trip off a quiet trial. Gap to rest.
